Africa-Press – Angola. The national executive secretariat of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA) welcomed, this Thursday, the election of Angola to the post of vice-president of the African Region of the International Federation of Women.

Represents Angola in the vice-presidency of the International Federation of Women for Africa, Joana Tomás, member of the secretariat of the Political Bureau of the MPLA Central Committee and secretary general of the OMA.

Joana Tomás guarantees to continue the organization’s work in the African region with women, with particular emphasis on the governments of the continent’s countries, whose political agenda must focus on violence against women, the fight against hunger and poverty and on struggles for their empowerment with a view to their self-affirmation in society.
