Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and the United States of America (USA) signed, this Tuesday morning, in Luanda, two more legal instruments, as part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.These are the Air Services Agreement to promote a competitive international aviation system and reduce government interference by facilitating safe and secure international air transportation, and the 505 Agreement, which concerns training and other services in the field of Defense.
The Air Services Agreement establishes overflight and stay rights, as well as encouraging fair competition between airlines of both countries, while the 505 Agreement establishes the conditions for the provision of training and other services under the International Military Education and Training (IMET) Program.
According to a press release from MIREX, sent, the signatories of these two legal instruments were the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Domingos Vieira Lopes, and the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi.
The signing of the agreements was witnessed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Minister of Transport, Ricardo d’Abreu.
