The Minister of Planning, Victor Hugo Guilherme, heads the Angolan delegation at the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, which begin today in Washington, United States of America.The Angolan delegation’s agenda includes a bilateral meeting today with the World Bank Vice President for the Southern and Eastern Africa Region, Victoria Kwakwa.
The meeting will serve to address the portfolio of projects financed by the World Bank.
The Angolan delegation will also meet with Zambia’s Finance Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane, to discuss financing for the Kalabo-Sikongo-Angola road and border project.
Participation in the 24th Meeting of Central Banks of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (BCPLP) is also planned to analyse the topics discussed at the annual meetings, namely the main economic, financial and other variables with an impact on the economic and financial situation of international economies.
In addition, the Finance Minister will be interviewed on the International Monetary Fund’s IMFToday live broadcast program, which is broadcast on IMF.org, YouTube and LinkedIn.
The discussion will focus on addressing debt and financing challenges in low-income countries and emerging markets.
The Angolan delegation includes the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, the Governor of the National Bank of Angola, Tiago Dias, and the President of the Angolan Sovereign Fund, Armando Manuel.
The World Bank Group Annual Meetings are a series of events that bring together influential leaders from governments, businesses, international organizations, civil society and academia, in search of solutions to economic development and sustainability challenges facing the world.
