Chicken Production Starts in Bengo

Africa-Press – Angola. Fazenda Filomena, located in Panguila, municipality of Dande, province of Bengo, started, on Monday, the production of 30 thousand chickens per week, as part of the increase in the supply of the product to consumers, as well as to reduce imports. On the occasion, the administrator of Fazenda Filomena, Sidney Ferreira, said that large-scale chicken production aims to reduce the needs of Angolan families, announcing that from 2025, the factory will double chicken production to 60,000.

“This is one of the challenges we set out to achieve, during the visit of the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, to Fazenda Filomeno.

The Angolan Executive is determined to increase the supply of the product on the national market, hence the fact that we accepted the challenge”, stressed the manager.

In addition to chicken production, Fazenda Filomena produces one million and 100 thousand eggs per day, and 480 tons of daily feed, both for laying hens and for meat.

“The eggs produced here are used by the population of Bengo province and other places. Our product is of high quality and is in high demand. We intend to produce animal feed to reduce the costs of purchasing the product,” concluded Sidney Ferreira.
