Africa-Press – Angola. Domestic flight operations by Linhas Aéreas de Angola (TAAG) on the Luanda – Cabinda – Luanda route closed yesterday with four more round trips, totaling eight in two days and around 1,000 passengers.According to the press, the frequencies will maintain the current service standards, since TAAG is also adjusting procedures in this first week for future operations to other domestic destinations, which will begin in approximately 30 days.
Buses on sale
Luanda Public Urban Transport (TCUL) buses are connecting to Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN) with promotional prices, a reduction of 50 percent.
Data obtained shows that the “short semi-express” buses, which leave from points closer to the airport, such as Sequele, Cacuaco and Viana, instead of the normal 500 kwanzas, are charging, until December 10th, only 250 kwanzas. The “long semi-express” buses, whose route is the city center (1o de Maio) – AIAAN or even the one that leaves from Benfica or Kilamba to AIAAN, instead of the fixed price of 1,000 kwanzas, are charging only 500.
TCUL has already announced the deployment of 35 buses on ten routes to support passenger operations to and from Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport.
Trains
The 12 daily frequencies of the Luanda Railways are operating normally, over these two days, in the same way, and on the “Expresso” route, with a generic price of 5,000 kwanzas.
The CFL Management reassures users about the entry of the normal train for 1,350 kwanzas.
Support services
Like the others, the restaurant and bar services at AIAAN are also operating normally during these two days of flight operations. There are two of them, one in the Duty Free area, which is located after completing the immigration procedures and waiting for boarding time.
According to the manager of the ATO – Temporary Operator of the new Airport, there are requests for the rental of commercial spaces, so entities that benefit from these support infrastructures and are not providing the necessary utility will have them removed.
The Airport was inaugurated on November 10, 2023.
