The Provincial Government of Cuanza-Norte will, over the course of the next year, implement 97 projects of an economic and social nature, with particular emphasis on the areas of Agriculture, Health, Education, Energy and Water, aiming to improve local communities.The decision was presented yesterday in Ndalatando during the 2nd Ordinary Meeting of the Provincial Government of Cuanza-Norte, under the guidance of the governor, João Diogo Gaspar, which aimed to plan work actions for next year and balance the tasks of the current period.
According to the provincial director of GEPE Cuanza-Norte, Elisa Damião, to materialize the projects in question, the Central Executive will make available, through the General State Budget, 17,353,720,291.00 (seventeen billion, three hundred and fifty-three million, seven hundred and twenty thousand, two hundred and ninety-one kwanzas).
She highlighted among the actions to be implemented, the expansion of the structural water and basic sanitation network, construction of medium voltage lines for electrification, creation of rural and social infrastructures, promotion of gender and women’s empowerment, as well as the rehabilitation of sports fields.
Province now has seven new municipalitiesUnder Law No. 14/24, linked to the Political-Administrative Division, the province of Cuanza-Norte will now have 17 municipalities, as opposed to the previous 10. The new municipalities include Aldeia Nova, Caculo Cabaça, Cerca, Luinga, Massangano, Tango and Terreiro.
According to the director of GEPE, the government of Cuanza-Norte will make more than 500 million kwanzas available to the new administrations to cover expenses with personnel and goods and services.
She announced that next year the new municipalities will not have any projects registered under the Public Investment Programme.
