Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan digital influencer Ana da Silva Miguel, better known as Neth Nahara, made several statements, including her conversion to Christianity and adoption of a new personality, on the morning of Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in an interview with the press, at the time she was leaving the Viana Prison Establishment.
In his statements, Neth acknowledged the fact that the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, was supposedly touched by the Holy Spirit, to the point of granting freedom to this and other people who were in prison for various charges, thanked God and everyone involved in the process, guaranteeing that from now on he will do everything to avoid returning to prison.
In court, the defendant confessed to having made the video to offend and mistreat the highest magistrate in the Nation because she felt frustrated and drunk, but stressed that she had no intention of insulting the President of the Republic.
In court, the digital influencer said that she was aware that the words she spoke would have a great reach on social media.
It is worth remembering that the influencer was accused of insulting the State, in accordance with Article 333 of the Angolan Penal Code, which initially earned her a six-month sentence, on August 14, 2023, which was later increased to two (02) years by the Court of Appeal of Luanda, at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
In this first phase of the process, on January 1st, 28 inmates were released, and the rest will be released on the 3rd and 6th of this month.
In Luanda, the ceremony took place at the Viana prison.
Among those released this Wednesday, in the country’s capital, the highlight was José Filomeno de Sousa dos Santos “Zenu”, son of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos should also receive his passport today, and the prisoners Abrão Pedro dos Santos, Adolfo Miguel Campos André, Carlos Tavares Ngandu, Celson Januário, Emanuel Leonardo Fonseca, Gilson da Silva Moreira, Hermenegildo José Victor André, Maninho Maneco Baião and Sampaio Francisco Malembe were also released to freedom in Luanda.
