Africa-Press – Angola. The growth rate of 4.43 percent, recorded in 2024, is the highest in the last ten years.According to the Minister of Planning, Victor Hugo Guilherme, this indicator is even more notable given that the same rate was positively influenced by the growth observed in the non-oil sector, set at 5.0 percent.
At the closing of the 1st BNA Conference Series, held yesterday at the Talatona Convention Center in Luanda, the minister said that he expected that “we are all committed to ensuring that the major objectives of boosting the production sector are achieved to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth, with the aim of raising food and nutritional security levels.”
Victor Hugo Guilherme said that he recognized that numerous challenges persist that have hampered the full functioning of the financial system.
However, the minister said, the data made available and the reforms that have been introduced by the regulator (BNA) give confidence in aiming for a more efficient and liquid financial system at the service of national families and companies.
Regarding cooperation with multilateral partners, the Minister of Planning stated, for example, that the “Diversify more” project, financed by the World Bank, has a budget of 120 million dollars to promote economic diversification. The African Development Bank (AfDB), with the “Crescer Project”, has a financing line valued at 124.68 million dollars, with the aim of facilitating access to financing.
