The second stage of the 12th edition of the National Golf Championship for Companies, “The Golf Cup Unitel BFA”, is scheduled for June 7th, at the Mangais Resort course, in Barra do Kwanza, in Luanda, with the participation of 18 teams and a total of 36 golfers.After failing their first attempt, most of the athletes are now focused on the next phase, with their sights set on qualifying for the semi-finals. The golfers have two months to improve their techniques and overcome the challenges imposed by the Mangais course.
On the 5th of this month, the first six pairs for the semi-finals were selected. They are: in first place was the pair Luís Marques/Christophe Kusiolek, representing Ponticelli Angoil; in second place was Valentin Malinescu/Fernando Ferreira, representing Petrowork 1.
The third pair to qualify was Herculano Silva/José Munar, from MF Creativa; in fourth place were João Silva/Nicolau Mateus (Transkiba); Salvador Abecassis/Gonçalo Santos (Insulana); and Kwak Keumyong/Ryu (Hufsan). For this edition, the organizers estimate that there will be 250 golfers after the three qualifying stages. One of those responsible for the organization, Jorge Fonseca, highlighted the entry of new sponsors, such as Bubai Investment Park, Angolauto and the insurance company Tranquilidade.“For us, it means that the championship is strong, and that brands are looking for us. As organizers, it is satisfying. We hope to earn the trust of all these partners and we will now turn our attention to the next stage,” he said.
Considered by participants to be the best golf competition in Angola, the National Golf Companies Championship consists of three qualifying stages and a semi-final to determine a total of 18 teams that will compete for the title on an international stage.
