The Cuangar Municipal Hospital, in the province of Cubango, was reinforced on Thursday with various medicines and consumables, to increase the response capacity of medical and drug assistance to patients. The governor of Cubango, José Martins, said that as it is a reference health unit, the hospital must be frequently supplied with medicines, given that the locality does not have any private pharmacies.
José Martins stated that the municipality of Cuangar has a health network consisting of a hospital and four health posts, and that it is important that all services are functioning, to guarantee medical and drug assistance to patients.
For this reason, he said, the provincial government mobilized medicines to strengthen the fight against malaria, diarrheal and acute respiratory diseases, typhoid fever and other pathologies that afflict the local population.During the governor’s visit, residents expressed concerns about the lack of electricity, ambulances and hospital support.
José Martins assured that the Cubango government would work to overcome the concerns raised in order to improve the living conditions of the population.
The municipal director of health, Arnaldo Sacato, thanked the Cubango provincial governor for his gesture, given that the Cuangar hospital was running low on supplies.
