Last Wednesday, the Clube Desportivo e Centro Recreativo Marítimo da Ilha celebrated its elevation to the category of Site of National Historic Interest by the Ministry of Culture.According to a note from the Ministry of Culture on Facebook, the event is part of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, which is celebrated on April 18.

The association located in the heart of Cabo Island was officially elevated to this status, in light of Executive Decree No. 383.
