New Management Staff and Consuls-General Sworn in

Africa-Press – Angola. On Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, swore in the new management staff of this ministerial department and consuls-general accredited abroad. They are Ambassador Bento Salazar André, appointed to serve as director of the office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Counsellor Cláudio Jorge de Jesus Pataca to serve as director of the General Protocol of the State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Counsellor Januário da Silva Macamba, appointed to lead the Directorate of Legal Affairs, Treaties and Litigation, and Minister-Counsellor Flávia Chinossanda Isaac Lutucuta, who takes on the role of National Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Addressing those sworn in, the head of Angolan diplomacy called for commitment, zeal and a spirit of mission, reiterating that the greater purpose is to enhance diplomacy, the Ministry and the noble task of promoting the country’s interests on the international stage.

Ambassador Isabel Paula de Castro was also sworn in to serve as Angolan Consul General in Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Ambassador Nazaré José Salvador was appointed Angolan Consul General in Johannesburg, South Africa; and João Fernando Jaime was appointed Consul General at the Angolan Consular Post in Montevideo, Eastern Republic of Uruguay.

Counsellor Madalena Francisco Filipe Vusawekumbi was also sworn in, having been appointed to the post of Head of the Department of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), attached to the Directorate of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça; João Baptista da Costa, Secretary General of the MIREX; Ambassador Joaquim Augusto Belo Mangueira, diplomatic and consular inspector of the MIREX; and the distinguished directors of the internal bodies of this ministerial department.
