First President of PRA-JA Servir Angola is Announced at Congress

Africa-Press – Angola. The election of the first president of PRA-JA Servir Angola, with two candidates running, takes place in Luanda, during the constitutive congress, which ends on Thursday, according to the program.

At the opening of the proceedings, Abel Chivukuvuku, one of the candidates for the party leadership, as general coordinator of PRA-JA Servir Angola, who is competing with Francisco Nkanga for the same position, will speak.

The first president of PRA-JA Servir Angola should be elected today so that the congress’s work can take place under the command of the first leader of this political force, legalized in October 2024, after a long process that began in 2019 and was marked by several rejections by the Constitutional Court.

Several national and international parties have been invited to the opening ceremony of the congress. Representatives from Mozambique will be Nova Democracia and the Movimento Democrático de Moçambique (MDM), and from neighbouring Namibia, the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM). Representatives from the MPLA, UNITA, Bloco Democrático, PRS, FNLA and Partido Humanista de Angola will also be present, as well as diplomatic representatives and civil society figures.

The first PRA-JA Servir congress is attended by more than 750 delegates from all over the country and the diaspora, from Portugal, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, Brazil, South Africa, Germany and the United States. The congress is held under the motto: “Institutionalize and Strengthen to be Government in 2027”.

The program includes the presentation of the report of the subcommittee on mandates today, with the electoral act scheduled for the afternoon.

The election of the National Political Committee is scheduled for Wednesday and the first meeting of this committee should take place on Thursday, the day on which its secretaries and the National Executive Committee, appointed by the president, will take office, and the election and inauguration of the secretary-general of PRA-JA Servir Angola should also take place.

On that day, the Guidelines for the Materialization of the 2026-2027 Strategic Plan will be presented.
