Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) launched, Friday (20), in Luanda, a campaign called Ciber Kid (safe Internet for children).

In the act, witnessed by the heads of MINTTICS, Manuel Homem, and the Ministry of Education (MED), Luísa Grilo, the National Director of Cybersecurity Policies and Digital Services , Hediantro Wilson Mena, made it known that the project aims to raise awareness of teenagers on cybersecurity matters.

According to the official, it is a project of national scope, which will cover all schools of the I and II cycle of secondary education.

During the campaign, workshops and seminars will be held, with the aim of empowering and educating teenagers on the conscious use of the Internet.

In turn, Minister Manuel Homem highlighted the role of the Ministry of Education (MED) in combating the misuse of information technologies, so the cybersecurity campaign is essential to protect children in search of knowledge on the Internet.

Manuel Homem considered it important that teachers teach students not to trust or post personal information on social networks. “It is everyone’s obligation to teach children the correct way to use this important tool, but cybersecurity should also be everyone’s concern, because we have been following several violent cases on social media,” he said.
