Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda senior men’s team of guaranteed, Thursday, its presence in the 6th edition of the African Basketball League (BAL), by revalidating the title of National champion, in the game of the 47th edition, after beating 1o de Agosto, by 105-75, in the fifth game of the play-off of the final, in the best of seven matches.
The Petro de Luanda team holds the continental trophy and travels Tuesday to the city of Pretoria, South Africa, stage of the final tournament, which will take place from June 6 to 14.
Petro de Luanda is the only Angolan team that has participated in all editions of this competition organized by the NBA and FIBA.
In 2021, the team was in third place, in 2022, it occupied the second position, and in 2023 it fell to fourth place, and in 2024 it won the unprecedented title of the Basketball Africa League.
