Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Italy, Josefa Sacko, presented copy of the Letter of Credence to the Deputy Head of Ceremonial of the Italian Republic, Irene Castagnoli on Wednesday, in Rome.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in the Farnesina Palace.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation, with special attention to the agriculture, fisheries and technical and vocational training sectors.

On the same day, Josefa Sacko met with diplomats and local collaborators of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission, where she presented the main guidelines of her mandate.

Among the priorities highlighted, the Angolan diplomat defended a leadership model based on proximity, firmness and humanism, calling for the active and collaborative participation of the entire team.

The head of the diplomatic mission in Rome also underlined the crucial role of diplomats in projecting a positive international image of Angola, stating that “the country”s reputation depends on the professionalism, conduct and commitment of each one of us”.

The ambassador also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with the Angolan community residing in the diaspora, proposing an embassy that is “open, present and sensitive to the concerns of citizens,” while encouraging their participation in social, cultural and economic activities.

Among the priorities of her action, Sacko announced that she will devote special attention to the promotion of economic diplomacy, highlighting the Lobito Corridor as a strategic project for regional integration and the internationalization of the Angolan economy.

With a consolidated career in international organizations and extensive experience in sustainable development matters, the ambassador takes up duties in Rome with the aim of boosting bilateral relations and consolidating Angola”s presence in the European space.
