Business Summit Strengthens Economic Partnerships, US Embassy Note

Africa-Press – Angola. The 17th US-Africa Business Summit, organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), concluded on Wednesday (25) in Luanda, after three intense days of political and economic dialogue, strategic partnerships and the signing of historic agreements.

The event brought together more than 2,800 leaders of African governments, United States high-level representatives and entities from the private sector, with the aim of strengthening commercial ties and promoting sustainable development on the African continent.

A note from the US embassy in Angola highlights the positive manner in which the event took place.

It emphasizes that, leading the US delegation, Ambassador Troy Fitrell, Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, highlighted the growing importance of US private sector involvement in Africa.

He said that his delegation is encouraging development finance institutions to take more risks because the opportunity is right and the African markets are young, dynamic and increasingly digital.

He also mentioned that by 2050, the continent will have around 2.5 billion people, with a projected purchasing power of more than $16 trillion.

The diplomat also stressed that by choosing US companies, African countries are opting for quality, innovation, transparency and long-term value.
