Africa-Press – Angola. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recently praised Angola’s civil aviation safety system, following an audit conducted from June 16 to 25.

According to a press release that, the provisional results released on Friday by the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) classify Angola as an international benchmark in security against unlawful acts.

According to the document, the assessment thoroughly analyzed the country’s ability to manage security at airports, on aircraft, and for passengers and cargo.

The note says that the success is the result of a collaborative effort between the ANAC and several important entities in the aviation sector, including Angolan airlines TAAG, Emirates airlines and the National Police.

It adds that the audit focused on the implementation of crucial security elements, ensuring compliance with ICAO international standards and that experts of various nationalities examined various components, from legislation to airport operations.

This recognition, the note adds, is strategic for Angola as it prepares to receive international flights from the newly inaugurated international airport Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN).

ICAO’s confirmation that Angola strictly follows global practices ensures confidence for passengers and operators, as well as reinforcing the country’s role as a future “regional hub” for civil aviation.

ANAC’s CEO, Amélia Kuvingua, highlighted the continuous and integrated work of institutions as key to this alignment with the most demanding international standards.
