Paulo Leitão explained that the EU’s support also involves the component of economic diversification, in addition to the component of improving governance in Angola.
He reiterated that investment along the provinces that are part of the Lobito Corridor (Benguela, Huambo, Bié, Moxico and Moxico Leste) is fostering decent employment for young people, social responsibility and increasing the flow of freight trains on this railway line.
Paulo Leitão also explained that the EU’s investment also includes the agricultural sector, preservation of maritime ecosystems, rivers, the environment in general and micro and small businesses.
The idea behind this purpose is to attract private investment to Angola and he stressed the importance of creating solid commercial bases in these regions of the country.
