Africa-Press – Angola. Opposition UNITA’s Secretary-General Álvaro Tchicuamanga defended on Saturday (28), in the city of Menongue, southern Province of Cubango, the need for peaceful and democratic coexistence between all political parties in the country, remaining united, coherent and committed to the interests of the people.

The statement was made during the provincial ceremony celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the Angolan Women’s League “LIMA” (UNITA’s female wing), adding that democracy gains strength when political players respect each other and place Angola above any partisan interests.

“We may have different views, but our coexistence must be guided by respect, unity and coherence. Only then will we build a truly democratic country”, stressed the leader.

In his appeal to the youth, the politician highlighted the opportunities that exist in the southern provinces of Cuando and Cubango, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, education and health, and encouraged young people to invest in agriculture, create projects that benefit their families and to focus on building a better future.

Regarding the “Kwenda” Social Monetary Transfer program, the leader explained that it is a World Bank project and that people should join and benefit from the support to feed themselves and take care of their families, as its purpose is the well-being of citizens.

Álvaro Tchicuamanga reiterated the need to improve the province’s infrastructure to attract private investment and ensure better living conditions for the population.

“We need to have roads, hospitals with medicines, functional schools and sports fields. Young people need to play sports and dream of a better tomorrow,” he stressed.
