Africa-Press – Angola. Forty-six thousand and 525 litres of fuel (diesel and petrol) destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo for illegal sale were seized by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte.
The information was provided, Sunday, by the technician from the Institutional Communications office of the Provincial Command of the National Police in Lunda-Norte, Alexandre Pereira, who highlighted that the fuel was seized on the road and at border posts.
Without revealing the quantity or nationality of the citizens involved in the crime, he said that the fuel will be handed over to the General Tax Administration (AGT) for due processing.He added that in the same operation, 684 diamonds of various carats were seized, in the possession of four citizens detained at the Luo containment post and in the municipality of Xá-cassau, for possession and illegal trafficking of the strategic mineral.
According to the technician, the diamonds will be handed over to ENDIAMA EP, as trustee, and those involved will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.
On the other hand, he reiterated that the defense and security agencies will continue to redouble their efforts to combat illegal immigration, fuel smuggling, diamond mining and related crimes.
