Africa-Press – Angola. The Maria Mambo Café airport in the city of Cabinda has recorded about 128,000 passengers in the Cabinda-Luanda route and vice-versa, from January to May of this year, according to the the Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, Maritime and Port sectors, Rui Carreira.

The official was speaking on the topic “incentives and plans for the development of the transport sector”, as part of the business forum held at Expo-Cabinda, 2025 edition.

He stated that it is a very dynamic airport in the country, accounting for 53% of domestic air traffic.

To him, the construction of the new Cabinda International Airport, proposed by the Government, appears to be a strategic option for the development of the Caio Deep Water Terminal and the local refinery, which should increase passenger flow to this northernmost region of the country.

Regarding public transportation, Rui Carreira stated that the province of Cabinda received 70 new buses for public passenger transport between 2019 and 2024.
