Africa-Press – Angola. Nacional de Benguela secured their place in the semifinals of the 43rd National Women’s Youth Handball Championship this Monday, defeating Obra Social da Maxinde 27-25 in a match played at the Matrindindi pavilion.
At halftime, the Benguela team was already leading by a narrow 15-14 margin and managed to hold on to their lead until the end of the match.
The remaining quarterfinal matches saw the following results:
Mora do Virei 23 – 19 Kamba
Petro de Luanda 23 – 21 Maculusso
CPPL 30 – 21 Aliança
There will be a break this Tuesday, with the competition resuming on Wednesday with the semifinals:
Nacional de Benguela vs. Mora do Virei (Namibe)
Petro de Luanda vs. CPPL
The tournament, which runs from August 12th to 22nd, features 12 teams divided into two groups (A and B). The top four teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals.
Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito (CPPL) is the defending champion of this competition.
