Africa-Press – Angola. This Tuesday, in the city of Lubango, the governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, demanded greater commitment from public administration officials to making state institutions more accessible, effective, and humane in every decision and service provided.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new administrative officers, recruited through the 2024/2025 public selection process, across various categories of the general, special, and social worker regimes of the public service, he said that their mission is not only technical, but above all social.
He stated that upon assuming public administration roles, officers must serve with integrity, zeal, dedication, and profound respect for the principles of public interest and good governance.
He reiterated the Huíla government’s purpose of continuing to build a modern, ethical public administration focused on the real needs of citizens, a task that requires a spirit of mission, professionalism, and a sense of state from each officer.
“May this new cycle that begins today be marked by achievements that make your families proud, enhance your municipalities, and reinforce the population’s trust in public institutions,” he said.The governor stated that it was a collective process, based on the principles of legality, transparency, equal opportunity, and merit, ensuring the recruitment of qualified professionals committed to public service and the aspirations of the communities they will serve.
With this integration, the new professionals, stationed in several municipalities in Huíla, will strengthen the public administration staff at the municipal level, in compliance with Order No. 175 of the Huíla Government, dated June 20, 2024, which authorized the opening of an external entrance exam for general careers and social work.
Registration took place between June and July 2024. Ten thousand candidates registered. The selection tests took place in October of the same year. Six thousand,160 candidates participated, of whom 1,298 obtained positive results.
After an evaluation, the 360 highest-ranking candidates were selected and appointed.
The province of Huíla, with 23 municipalities, has an estimated population of over three million inhabitants.
