Africa-Press – Angola. Bengo Provincial Governor Maria Nelumba Friday, in Caxito, urged local business owners to join the government’s efforts by supporting training programs for athletes, coaches, referees, and technicians.

Speaking at the 1st Provincial Sports Symposium, Maria Nelumba also called for special attention to women’s and community sports, aiming to discover talents that could lead to high-performance competitions in the future.

She highlighted that the province has seen progress in sports such as handball, cycling, MMA, karate, handball, track and field, soccer, and refereeing, with achievements that fuel the ego, optimism, and hope for a better future.

She considered the symposium a space for dialogue and collective commitment that will contribute to strengthening sports policies in the province.

On the other hand, he said that the Angolan State, through the National Sports Development Plan 2024-2027, recognizes sport as a social phenomenon of great importance, because it promotes inclusion, discipline, citizenship and cohesion.The meeting brought together sports agents with the aim of finding ways for the sustainable development of sports activity in the province of Bengo, as well as encouraging sports practitioners and lovers to continue with firmness, dedication, selflessness, creativity and boldness in their activities.
