Africa-Press – Angola. The total turnover of French companies operating in Angola is currently around 6 billion euros per year, the European country’s ambassador to Angola, Ms. Sophie Aubert, reported on Monday in Luanda.
The diplomat was speaking during a meeting between a delegation of French energy companies that has been visiting Angola since Monday with the aim of assessing the local potential in the energy sector, as well as verifying the possibility of operating in the country.
On the occasion, she explained that French companies in total represent the third-largest foreign private employer in Angola, with 30,000 employees, emphasizing that currently, approximately 120 companies from her country operate in Angola, with a particular focus on the oil sector.
Ms. Sophie Aubert highlighted the growing interest of French businesspeople in investing in Angola, taking into account the improvement in the business environment that has been seen in recent years.
In turn, the Commercial Counsellor at the French Embassy, Benoit Catusse, acknowledged the commitment of his country’s companies that operate in Angola, which have contributed fundamentally to the process of economic diversification and youth training.
The businesspeople delegation will remain in Angola for six days and will participate in the Oil & Gas 2025 Conference, taking place on the 3rd and 4th of the current month, in addition to holding other parallel meetings.
The visit of the business delegation is an initiative of the French Public Investment Agency named Business France in partnership with the French trade association (EVOLEN).
