Africa-Press – Angola. Chinese Ambassador to Angola Zhang Bin reaffirmed this Monday in Luanda that traditional cooperation between the two countries has reached a stage of increasing new dynamics, encompassing industrial manufacturing, the digital economy, and other areas.

The diplomat was speaking during the conference between TV Zimbo and the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence and the 17th anniversary of TV Zimbo, held under the theme “The Influence of the Chinese Business Sector on the National Economy.”

“Over the past 42 years, the partnership has achieved remarkable progress and led to fruitful, visible, and tangible results. Chinese companies have actively participated in Angola’s national reconstruction,” he stated.

Among China’s contributions to national reconstruction, Zhang Bin highlighted the rehabilitation of more than 30,000 kilometers of railways, more than 20,000 kilometers of roads, 10 airports, 14 million square meters of social housing, 200 schools, nearly 50 hospitals, and more than 60 water supply and drainage projects.

According to Chinese Embassy statistics, there are currently more than 400 Chinese-funded companies in Angola, with an investment of approximately US$27 billion, making the Asian country Angola’s largest strategic partner, cooperating in various areas.

“The two countries have not only achieved significant results in infrastructure, but have also developed cooperation in the areas of trade and investment. Currently, China is Angola’s largest trading partner, the largest destination for Angolan exports, the largest source of the country’s imports, and also the largest destination for Angolan crude oil,” he said.The conference, titled “The Influence of the Chinese Business Sector on the National Economy,” aimed to address the value chain of Sino-Angolan investment and business cooperation in building a more diversified, sustainable, and competitive economy.

It also aimed to strengthen economic, business, and business relations between the two countries, highlighting the strategic role of national companies in the internationalization of the Angolan economy.

The meeting brought together business leaders, academics, public and private managers, and representatives of financial institutions, who will reflect on key issues for strengthening business between Angola and China.
