Head of State Accredits Eight New Ambassadors

Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço accredited eight new ambassadors in Luanda, on Monday, who will be representing the political, diplomatic, commercial, and cultural interests of their countries in the Angolan State.

The new diplomats are from Israel, East Timor, Ukraine, Zambia, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Namibia, Canada, and Indonesia. With resident status, Ambassadors Leo Vinovezky (Israel), Ivo Jorge Valente (Timor-Leste), and Andrii Kasianov (Ukraine) presented their credentials.

In the same capacity, the heads of missions of Zambia, Elias Munshya, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Henny Fokel de Vries, and Namibia, Leonard Lipumbu, also formalized their mission.

With non-resident status, the Head of State also received the credentials from the Ambassadors of Canada, Anderson Blanc, and Indonesia, Mirza Nurhidayat. At separate moments, President João Lourenço held private conversations lasting approximately 15 minutes with each of the newly accredited diplomats.

Diplomat Profiles

Leo Vinovezky, Ambassador of Israel, is a career diplomat with over 22 years of experience, having served in countries such as Uruguay, the United States, Ethiopia, and others, building a solid international career.

Ivo Jorge Valente, the 55-year-old ambassador of Timor-Leste, has a law degree and has held prominent positions in the justice sector in his country, including serving as Deputy Attorney General between 2006 and 2009. Henny Fokel de Vries, ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has a 23-year diplomatic career, having served on missions in Tanzania, Bangladesh, Mozambique, and Pakistan, in addition to having worked in various departments of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Andrii Kasianov, ambassador of Ukraine, has extensive experience in multilateral and bilateral contexts, having represented his country in Georgia, the OSCE, and international organizations in Vienna and Geneva.

Elias Munshya, ambassador of Zambia, is a lawyer by profession and has a career marked by work in the justice sector. He previously served as

Zambia’s high commissioner to Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Leonard Lipumbu, Namibia’s ambassador, is a seasoned diplomat, having represented his country in the United States, Canada, Brazil, and France, as well as having held senior positions in Namibia’s Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation.

Anderson Blanc, Canada’s ambassador, has a track record in economic diplomacy and the promotion of strategic partnerships on the African continent. Mirza Nurhidayat, Indonesia’s ambassador is a career diplomat with experience in various posts in Asia and Africa, excelling in promoting South-South cooperation.
