President Lourenço Hosts Guests at Independence Day

Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço, on Tuesday received distinguished foreign personalities who participated in the festivities marking the 50th anniversary of National Independence.

During the meetings, held in the newly inaugurated Protocol Hall of the Presidency of the Republic, in Luanda, the Head of State had separate briefing with the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, and with the Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Judith Suminwa Tuluka, representing President Félix Tshisekedi.

On the same occasion, the Angolan statesman received the Minister of the Interior of Rwanda, Vincent Biruta, who delivered a message from President Paul Kagame.

President João Lourenço also received the special envoy of the King of Spain, Ximena Bartolomeu Toco, carrying a message from the Spanish monarch, Felipe VI.

The aforementioned personalities represented their heads of state at the central event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence, proclaimed on November 11, 1975.
