Africa-Press – Angola. The construction of the Ndue Dam, in the municipality of Cuvelai, Cunene province, is in its final phase, with approximately 90% physical completion. Delivery of this infrastructure is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
This infrastructure, initiated in 2021, is 1,500 meters long and 32.8 meters high, covering an area of 2,000 hectares, with a capacity to store approximately 170 million cubic meters of water.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy and Water, the dam includes an associated 75-kilometer canal and 15 water reservoirs.
The project is expected to benefit more than 55,000 inhabitants and 60,000 head of livestock, in addition to irrigating an area of over 9,200 hectares, for the development of agricultural activity.
