Africa-Press – Angola. 1o de Agosto and Wiliete de Benguela on Sunday drew 2-2 in a match valid for the 8th round of the top division National Football Championship (Girabola 2025-26), at the Ombaka Stadium, in the Province of Benguela.
Despite the draw, 1o de Agosto leads the championship with 16 points, the same with Recreativo do Libolo, which occupies second position.
In the game where José Álvaro was the referee, Mabilson and Robson scored for 1o de Agosto, while César Cangué and Tubia scored for Wiliete de Benguela.
Also on the same day, Desportivo da Lunda Sul beat Académica do Lobito 2-0 in Dundo, 1o de Maio de Benguela defeated Luanda City 1-0 at the municipal Stadium, while Desportivo da Huíla beat Interclube 2-1 in a match played in the city of Lubango.
The eighth round opened on Friday with Redonda do Bengo which beat Guelson FC, 2-1, at the Coqueiros Stadium in Luanda, and on Saturday, Sagrada Esperança thrashed Libolo 5-1.
However, the match between Petro de Luanda and Kabuscorp was postponed indefinitely due to Petro’s involvement in African clubs competitions.
