Africa-Press – Angola. The National Public Procurement Service (SNCP) has registered approximately 53 companies that have been barred from contracting with the state due to contractual breaches, said SNCP Deputy Director-General Aldmiro Matos Thursday in Luanda.
Speaking to the press at the seminar “50 Years of Independence and 15 Years of Rigor and Transparency in Public Procurement in Service of National Development,” Matos stressed that companies whose breaches are detrimental to the state are barred for one to three years.
Matos explained that of the 230 processes initiated to bar companies from contracting with the state, approximately 70% returned the amount or resumed executing the works, delivering the goods, and remained active with the state.
He added that, as a result of the institution’s work, at least 90% of the country’s contractors are now familiar with bidding procedures.
The SNCP’s mission is to ensure the operability, regulation, oversight, and supervision of the national public procurement system.
The institution acts with the unwavering purpose of supporting the executive branch in defining and implementing efficient and effective public procurement policies and practices, while promoting transparency, fairness, and the efficient use of public resources.
