Africa-Press – Angola. The Commission for Social Policy of the Cabinet Council analyzed on Tuesday (09), in Luanda, the proposed Draft-Law on Angolan Vernaculars, a document that establishes principles and rules on their use in the country.
According to the meeting’s final document, during the 10th ordinary session, chaired by the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Maria Bragança, the proposed Law on the institutions of traditional power was also considered.
In this context, it states, the consideration of the first document by the Cabinet Council was recommended, since it aims to promote, diversify and disseminate the study of Angolan languages, of national identity and communication in social life’s different sectors, by virtue of cultural and civilizational values.
“It also aims to foster linguistic unity and pluralism and dignity, consolidating national identity,” it clarifies.
Regarding traditional power, it states that it establishes the principles and rules, the control and accountability regime of the institutions of said power, the relations with the organs of the State administration, with local authorities, and other specific modalities of citizen participation.
According to the document, the commission recommended the improvement of some aspects, which should be reassessed at one of the Cabinet’s next meetings.
As for the environment, the officials reviewed the presidential decrees that approve the national strategies and action plans for Biodiversity and Giraffe Conservation 2025-2030, and these documents were recommended to be improved and aligned with the Ministry of Planning, taking into account what is established by the National Planning Law and other instruments.
