Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço and the First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço, on Thursday spent time with about 300 children from across the country, in a ceremony held in the garden of the Presidential Palace in Luanda, as part of the “Wheel of Love” project, included in the Christmas celebrations.
The initiative is promoted by the First Lady, within the framework of her work of social responsibility and defense of children’s rights, and has the regular association of the President, who transmits messages of hope, encouragement and appreciation of human values to the new generations.
The activity brings together children from foster homes and social centers from the 21 provinces of the country, providing moments of joy, conviviality and sharing, in a festive atmosphere marked by cultural entertainment and a spirit of solidarity.
The “Wheel of Love” project is an annual initiative of the First Lady of the Republic, held during the Christmas season, with the aim of promoting human and social values and strengthening active citizenship from childhood.
It aims to instill feelings such as hope, faith, love and gratitude, contributing to the moral, cultural and social development of children, based on solidarity, respect and responsibility.
During the event, children participate in cultural activities, such as music, poetry and dance, and receive gifts, with a view to strengthening self-esteem and emotional well-being.
The project is aligned with the principles of protection and integral development of the child, enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola and the Law on the Protection and Integral Development of the Child, focusing on physical, emotional and social well-being, as well as the right to education, health and a safe and affectionate environment.
