Africa-Press – Angola. The Chevron general manager for Southern Africa, Frank Cassulo, reaffirmed that the company will continue to prioritize stable and reliable operations, with a view to contributing to Angola’s energy future in the coming times.
Speaking at the ceremony commemorating the start of production at the N’dola Sul oil project, held on Wednesday (21), in Luanda, the official said that, in addition to this, there is the reinforcement of investments in the country, so that each milestone adds value to Angolans.
He recalled that, for decades, Chevron has been a trusted partner for Angola, pioneering key chapters in the history of the country’s oil and gas, from the establishment of the first offshore developments to the introduction of new technologies, operational standards and world-class safety systems.
He added that this journey has always been guided by collaboration, innovation and respect for Angola’s aspirations.
According to the director, the N’dola Sul project is a “reminder” of the results that can be achieved when knowledge, operational discipline, and strong partnerships are combined.
Frank Cassulo also said that the project reflects Angola’s growing capacity, resilience, and leadership in the region, as well as reinforcing Chevron’s commitment to operational excellence and the development of local content.
The N’dola Sul oil platform, located in Block 0 offshore Angola, began operating on Dec 24, 2025, with a projected maximum daily production of approximately 25,000 barrels of oil and 50 million cubic feet of gas.
This platform will operate in 12 wells and consists of a jacket weighing approximately 1,100 tons, about 73 meters high, built in Porto Amboim, province of Cuanza-Sul, while the upper surfaces, weighing approximately 600 tons, were manufactured in Malembo and assembled in Malongo, province of Cabinda.
The initiative by the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC), a subsidiary of Chevron, and partners from the Contractor Group, composed of Sonangol, TotalEnergies and Azule Energy, created more than 800 jobs for Angolan citizens during the construction phase.
