Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 14,399,391 voting citizens are entitled to vote in the general elections of August 24, 2022, revealed, this Monday, in Luanda, the Minister of Territory Administration, Marcy Lopes, ten days after the General Elections were called. by the President of the Republic.
The minister advanced these data in the act of handing over to the National Electoral Commission (CNE) the Computer File of Senior Citizens in the country and abroad, resulting from the mass electoral registration process, carried out from September 2021 to April 2022, whose exercise constitutes a legal obligation for the correct and up-to-date registration of voters.
“This file does not include the deceased that we have official knowledge of, people who are in contravention of the law and who have been deprived of liberty by means of a conviction by the courts and have also been removed from the file, but are included in the base all citizens who must turn 18 years of age after the 24th of August”, explained Marcy Lopes.
