Elections: Around 220 electoral agents begin training

Africa-Press – Angola. Around 220,000 electoral agents started, this Monday, in Luanda, the training course for national trainers that will enable them to work in the general elections on 24 August, across the country.

Among the electoral agents, national trainers, provinces, municipalities, electoral civic education agents, among others, stand out.

The president of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Manuel Pereira da Silva, speaking at the opening of the training, clarified that the participants were selected on the basis of public curricular competitions, in obedience to the guiding principles of the institution, especially the principles of independence, exemption, transfer and impartiality.

Manuel Pereira da Silva also referred that the process is made up of a set of acts and formalities, with a view to training that is summarized in acquiring knowledge aimed at standardizing the interpretations to be transmitted to the electoral civic education agent, who will come into direct contact with voters on 24 August.
