Africa-Press – Angola. The former Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Rui Jorge Carneiro Mangueira, died on Tuesday afternoon in Pamplona, Spain, at the age of 63, after an illness, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
In addition to his significant work in diplomacy, he also served with zeal and responsibility as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Banco de Fomento Exterior, where he left indelible marks through his contribution to institutional strengthening and national development.
Rui Mangueira also served as Angola’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, where he distinguished himself by his ability to represent and promote the country’s interests, gaining recognition in international diplomatic circles.
In a note of condolences, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses deep sorrow at the death of the diplomat, highlighting his career marked by dedication to the national cause, professional competence and a high sense of state.
At this time of mourning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praises the human and professional qualities of the diplomat, whose memory will endure as an example of dedication, integrity, and patriotism in service to Angola, and extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
