Africa-Press – Angola. The future logistics platforms of Luvo, Zaire province, and Yema (Cabinda) will boost cross-border trade between Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to the administrator of the Angola Cargo and Logistics Certification Regulatory Agency (ARCCLA), Mateus Simão.

For the administrator for the institution’s Technical Area and Operations, strategic platforms take advantage of the privileged location of common borders to facilitate the flow of goods and optimize the supply chain in the sub-region.

The source, speaking about “Transport and Logistics”, at the 3rd DRC–Angola Economic Forum, held on Wednesday and Thursday, in DRC, said that infrastructures, under the auspices of ARCCLA, are being prepared to serve as engines to boost bilateral exchanges.

“The Luvo and Yema platforms appear as important levers for economic integration, ensuring greater fluidity in the flow of products and security in logistics operations”, said Mateus Simão.

The panel dedicated to logistics, shared with the Executive Secretary of the Lobito Corridor Transit Transport Facilitation Agency (AFTTCL), Amadeu Nunes, discussed solutions for formalizing trade and eliminating barriers to the transit of goods.

A press release from the Angola Cargo and Logistics Certification Regulation Agency sent states that Angola’s participation in the event strengthened Angolan Government’s strategy of consolidating logistics corridors that guarantee national supply and the prosperity of families, as part of the celebrations of 50 years of dedication to the mobility sector.

During the two sessions, the experts also addressed topics such as the fight against smuggling, the facilitation of financial transactions, the blue economy and cooperation in the areas of hydrocarbons and electricity.

The Kinshasa meeting served to reaffirm the construction of “economic bridges” between Luanda and Kinshasa, aiming to transform the potential of the border areas into poles of sustainable development for the populations of both States.

At the forum, held under the motto “Sub-regional Integration of Cross-Border Trade”, the Angolan delegation was led by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, made up of government officials from the Commerce, Fisheries and Transport sectors of both countries.
