Governor Demands Rigorous Evaluation of Ongoing Programs

Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Benguela, Manuel Nunes Júnior, demanded on Friday in the city of Lobito, a rigorous evaluation of the implementation of the various programs approved at the third ordinary meeting of the local government in 2025.

During the first ordinary meeting of 2026 of the local government, the governor said these programs are fundamental to life in the province of Benguela and should be evaluated at each government session.

“We need to know how these programs are being implemented in each municipality,” he said, adding that some of the programs approved in last year’s annual report of the Benguela Provincial Government (GPB).

These include the program to support traditional authorities, the intervention program for the social and economic protection of the coastal village of Caota, the literacy revitalization program, and the plan to improve the quality of education.

He also highlighted programs aimed at reintegrating children living on the streets, reducing the vulnerability of former combatants and war veterans, and improving community-led sanitation.
