Africa-Press – Angola. The first municipal secretary of the MPLA in the municipality of Lubango, Augusto Cuanga, on Saturday in the province of Huila appealed to party members to strengthen the denunciation of corruption, nepotism and impunity, aiming for greater transparency and unity within the party.
The official made the appeal during the public presentation of the convocation of the 9th Ordinary Congress of the MPLA, to be held on December 9th and 10th in Luanda, stressing that the fight against corruption is a permanent priority for the party and should be assumed by all members as a collective commitment.
According to the politician, eliminating practices such as nepotism and impunity is fundamental to strengthening the MPLA’s credibility with society, since internal transparency will consolidate trust among party members and reinforce the party’s political action.
He mentioned that the 9th Ordinary Congress will be a moment to evaluate the political, economic, and social performance of the ruling party in Angola during the period 2021-2026.
The politician added that the meeting will also serve to renew the party’s organs and bodies, aiming for greater dynamism and effectiveness in its structures.
He said the ongoing process is expected to strengthen discipline, ethics, and internal cohesion inside the party, emphasizing that the active participation of militants is fundamental to guaranteeing the success of the congress and the achievement of the objectives set.
The 9th Ordinary Congress of the MPLA will take place under the motto “Commitment to the People, Confidence in the Future” and should define the main political and strategic guidelines of the party for the coming years.
