National Police Report Six Cases of Border Violations over the Weekend

Africa-Press – Angola. At least Six cases of violation of the national border, which resulted in the detention of seven citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were recorded over the weekend in the province of Uíge, northern Angola, by the Border Guard Police.

The spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Uíge, Chief Superintendent Freitas Zama released on Monday this data when presenting the weekend’s report.

Freitas Zama said that the citizens were between 26 and 52 years old.

He informed that the border violation cases occurred at the border guard posts of Kimbata (Maquela do Zombo) and Kituma (Quimbele).

He further clarified that the violations were classified as thwarted attempts at illegal entry and exits in conjunction with fuel smuggling.

The officer further explained that, during the same period, the National Police recorded four deaths and two injuries as a result of four traffic accidents.
