After presiding over the launch of the campaign in Luanda, last Saturday, the MPLA candidate for President of the Republic leads, today, in Sumbe, a mass act, where, according to data advanced by the organization, more than 80 thousand supporters are expected, which, “judging by the mobilization, will achieve the objective”.
João Lourenço, remember, in the act of launching the campaign, said that it marked, with “the entry into the field of 8, the real electoral dispute”. Thus, the leader of the “comrades” party has been in Sumbe since yesterday afternoon, in order to promote the priority axes contained in the 2022-2027 government program as part of the actions to raise awareness and mobilize the electorate.
For the mass act, the second MPLA municipal secretary in Sumbe, Agostinho Cassessa, in statements, said that 71,000 militants are expected to attend, with the participation of 12 municipal and 36 communal committees, in addition to friends. and sympathizers. Agostinho Cassessa stated that the militants in Cuanza-Sul are anxious and expectant to hear a message of hope and problem solving from the party leader.
The activists, he said, intend that in his speech, João Lourenço talks about matters related to infrastructure, about the recovery of tertiary and secondary axes that connect municipalities, communes, villages and towns. In the field of agricultural development, they expect João Lourenço to present proposals to leverage this sector. “There is a concern among citizens in the Province of Cuanza-Sul, which has to do with inputs and agricultural inputs,” he said.
The second secretary of the MPLA said that in the Health sector he calls for the expansion of the health network, the creation of more health posts and the increase of qualified staff to respond to the demand of users.
According to the Government Program 2022-2027, the MPLA proposes, in the field of Education, to promote the expansion of access at all levels of education, create a pre-school education service network, increase network coverage compulsory schooling, modernizing existing schools and prioritizing completion of unfinished schools.
In the Health sector, another concern of the populations, the work will continue to be implemented to position Angola among the countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa Region with the best health indices, especially in the context of combating the main endemic diseases, with particular emphasis on malaria.
The MPLA also proposes to increase the volume of transported cargo, especially agribusiness, as well as the number of passengers.
State Reform
In this chapter, the MPLA, as indicated in its electoral manifesto, intends to consolidate the Democratic State and Rule of Law, pursue the reform of the State and fight corruption and impunity; promote the balanced and harmonious development of the territory, the decentralization and deconcentration of public administration, municipalization and the implementation of local authorities. In this order, the “comrades” will promote, in case of victory, the development of human capital, expanding access to health services, knowledge and technical and scientific skills, promoting culture and sport and stimulating entrepreneurship and innovation. .
