Africa-Press – Angola. Members of the African Canoe Confederation hold a congress in Luanda, on Monday, to evaluate the work carried out by the organization over the past four years.
The highlight of the meeting is the re-election of the outgoing chairman and sole candidate for the position, João Costa, from São Tomé and Príncipe.
The event includes, among other topics, discussions about the report and accounts, the financial balance sheet for the period under review, as well as the future of the sport.
The holding of the event in the Angolan capital confirms the country’s leading role and reflects its commitment to the development of nautical sports on the continent, especially canoeing.
During the event, a level 2 canoeing training course will be offered.
Taking place in one of Luanda’s hotels, the meeting brings together representatives of federations at the continental level, technicians from various areas, managers, coaches, and other participants for the exchange of experiences.
João Costa has led the African Canoe Confederation since 2009.
