Africa-Press – Angola. A network of four Angolan citizens involved in the trafficking of illegal immigrants was dismantled on Friday in the city of Mbanza Kongo in the Zaire province. Superintendent Luís Bernardo, the spokesperson of the National Police, told.
Superintendent Luís Bernardo said the individuals were arrested at the Bela Vista market while helping a citizen from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to travel to Luanda in exchange for 400 US dollars and a mobile phone.
Bernardo added that the group’s arrest is the result of a micro-operation carried out by officers from the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police’s Department of Investigation of Criminal Offenses (DIIP).
On Thursday, police in Mbanza Kongo arrested a Congolese woman for allegedly trafficking foreigners in irregular migratory situations. She was arrested at a taxi stand while attempting to travel to Luanda with three DRC immigrants, charging 110,000 kwanzas per person.
