Africa-Press – Angola. José Lolina, spokesperson of the Criminal Investigation Service in Namibe, on Monday urged Namibe citizens in possession of firearms to voluntarily hand them over to the authorities.

Speaking to the press at the presentation of a 49-year-old Namibe citizen arrested for threats using firearms in the municipality of Bibala, Lolina emphasized that many citizens in the interior of the province illegally possess firearms for hunting purposes.

The National Police in Namibe, he said, recorded more than 20 crimes of various natures, most notably robberies, thefts, and bodily harm.
