The secretary general of the Union of Angolan Journalists (SJA), Teixeira C\u00e2ndido, who defended, on Thursday (15), the fact on the sidelines of the provincial workshop on Online Journalism and Electoral Coverage, added that the class cannot be held responsible for the victory or defeat of a particular party or candidate.<\/p>\n

According to the union leader, sympathies or friendships are irrelevant at the moment, since each journalist should only do his job, which has to do with the collection and decent treatment of news facts. “The media cannot be a subject of debate as long as one works with impartiality and impartiality,” he noted.<\/p>\n

He considered that by putting into practice professional ethics and deontology, journalists can cover campaigns with greater rigor and dedication to the construction of reports that inform and keep viewers, listeners and readers of the various newspapers increasingly updated.<\/p>\n

During the two training days, participants analyzed topics related to the Code of Ethics and Professional Deontology, Electoral System, Transformation of Votes into Mandates, Journalistic Quality. The training action, promoted by the Union of Angolan Journalists, has the support of the Embassy of the United States of America.<\/p>\n
