Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>After a cycle of nine interspersed seasons, M\u00e1rio Soares, was removed, yesterday, amicably, from the technical command of the Clube Desportivo da Hu\u00edla (CDH).<\/b><\/p>\n

The ambition to win the National Championship of the I Division, aka Girabola, and the Angola Cup, were the reasons presented to the press by the management of Desportivo da Hu\u00edla to justify the removal of M\u00e1rio Soares, from the technical command of the main football squad.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made yesterday, Thursday, at a press conference, by the director general of Desportivo da Hu\u00edla, Carlos Manuel. The manager then revealed that, in his replacement, the Portuguese Paulo Torres was hired for two years, who until the end of last season coached Recreativo do Libolo.<\/p>\n

Carlos Manuel also announced that the club will play in the qualifiers for access to the African Confederation Cup (CAF) group stage, called the Nelson Mandela Cup. Given the requirement of some requirements demanded by CAF, the club’s management decided to terminate the contract with M\u00e1rio Soares, who continues to have “the doors open”.<\/p>\n

“We make official that, given the commitments that Desportivo da Hu\u00edla has and the prospect of starting the Football League, some assumptions must be met, as is the case of having a coach directly linked to the club”, he said.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the commitment to participate in Afrota\u00e7as means that the coach has a mandatory license that the coach who left does not have. Therefore, the management, after gathering and verifying these assumptions, found it necessary to hire another coach and terminate the contractual relationship with coach M\u00e1rio Soares\u201d, he clarified.<\/p>\n

He announced that coach Paulo Torres brings with him a physical trainer and goalkeeper coach. The general director announced the signing of an agreement with the club Boavista de Portugal for the training of new players who will emerge in the school to be created in Lubango, in partnership with the construction and engineering company Omatapalo. He announced that the training partnership will start in September, with the aim of training talented young people from the provinces of Hu\u00edla, Cunene, Cuando Cubango, Namibe, Luanda, Benguela, Huambo, among others. The manager hopes that the best players to emerge at school will be selected, to evolve in European football, especially at Boavista, and provide some income.<\/p>\n

However, he clarified that the main sponsor of the CDH remains the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).<\/p>\n

In the cycle of nine interspersed seasons, M\u00e1rio Soares managed to place the team in three finals of the Angola Cup, on the podium of Girabola with an honorable third place in the National Championship of the I Division and an auspicious debut in the CAF Cup.<\/p>\n

At the end of the football season, CDH occupied 6th place in Girabola and was a winning finalist of the Angola Cup, won by Petro de Luanda, as a result of the 2-1 defeat at the Tundavala National Stadium. Desportivo da Hu\u00edla was founded on March 7, 1998, on the initiative of General Francisco Pereira Furtado, its first chairman of the board, at the time in the guise of commander of the Southern Military Region.<\/p>\n
