Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, received, last night, in Luanda, the special envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for the Great Lakes Region, Huang Xia, with whom he discussed the current political moment in the region, with particular attention to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting, witnessed by the UN coordinator in Angola, Zahira Virani, was also used for the two entities to talk about the role that the country has played in this dossier, as president in exercise of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL).<\/p>\n

Minister T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio was accompanied by ambassadors Miguel Bembe, director of the Africa, Middle East and Regional Organizations Directorate, and Jacinto Rangel, director for Multilateral Affairs, in addition to consultants Desir\u00e9 Zinga and M\u00e1rcio Burity.<\/p>\n

The UN Secretary-General’s special envoy for the Great Lakes Region arrived yesterday afternoon in Luanda to maintain contacts with the Angolan authorities, in the context of the political climate between the DRC and Rwanda.<\/p>\n

Just yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, received at the beginning of yesterday evening, in Luanda, the ambassadors of Egypt, France and Rwanda, respectively, Mohamed Safwat Atta, Daniel Vosgien and Wellars Gasamagera, with whom he discussed bilateralism. and multilateralism.<\/p>\n

A note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the three ambassadors accredited to Angola were received in a collective audience to discuss with the head of Angolan diplomacy matters related to bilateralism, as well as issues related to multilateralism.<\/p>\n

Essentially, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, matters related to the possible accession of Angola as a member of the Francophonie jury and the possible participation of the country in the meeting of the Francophone Community, next November, in Tunisia, were also discussed.<\/p>\n

Francophonie is the linguistic community that encompasses all French-speaking countries or territories. Also yesterday, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Argentine ambassador, Alejandro Verdier, addressed, in Luanda, issues related to bilateral cooperation in the agricultural and economic fields.<\/p>\n

According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the hearing, the two individuals also dealt with matters of common interest, with particular emphasis on the framework of strengthening cooperation in the most varied domains.<\/p>\n
