Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Organization for the Development of Rural Communities (ODCR) is carrying out in Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes (Namibe) the “3 R” project – Reduce, Recycle and Reuse, aiming to educate citizens about the need for conservation and preservation of the environment.<\/b><\/p>\n

The management consultant of the aforementioned NGO, Miriam Marques, told Jornal de Angola that the action began with raising children’s awareness, teaching them how to reduce, recycle and reuse plastic bags, by separating other solid waste that harms the environment. environment.<\/p>\n

The project, after reaching the largest informal market in the city of Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes, in the 5 de Abril neighbourhood, which has the most population, also covered the cleaning of Miragens beach, last Saturday.<\/p>\n

Miriam Marques said she was worried about the growing pollution in the city, which was once one of the cleanest in the country.<\/p>\n

He said that there is a serious commitment to “sowing the seed”, to re-educate people to have a healthy conscience regarding the treatment of waste that to a large extent has been causing the spread of diseases.<\/p>\n

The project, he added, is still at an embryonic stage, and as soon as the tests are carried out as planned, it will be extended to other municipalities in Namibe province. “We are being well received, our activities are basically being a success, and we are having good results”, he assured.<\/p>\n

Without revealing the costs, Miriam Marques guaranteed that the project, which will last three years, will be financed by the European Union in partnership with the Provincial Government through the Culture, Tourism and Environment department.<\/p>\n
